Raspberry Days and "Fun with Fondue" Velata

This past weekend I spent working and vacationing at my favorite vacation spot, Bear Lake, Utah.  I was there for their annual Raspberry Days, working a Velata Fondue and Belgium Chocolate Booth.  Velata is a new company owned by the Scentsy Company.  For many years now we have enjoyed wonderful fragrances warmed in nice ceramic pots, heated with a light bulb.  Now, one step further, we can now warm foods in these warmers as they now provide "Fun with Fondue".

So, this concept is brand new, and I honestly wasn't sure how this new business would fly, but fly it did!!!!  Velata - Fun with Fondue was a big hit!  I actually sold out and took many orders.  Everyone was so excited to see that they could do fondue with out fire or flame, and without such a mess.  The new Velata Fondue pots have a silicone dish that is microwave safe, as well as dishwasher safe.  They have been tested  and warrantied to use with a Premium Belgium Chocolate provided by Velata.  This chocolate is absolutely delicious.  It comes in Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, White Chocolate, and Caramel Milk Chocolate.  Of course my favorite as well as many is the Caramel Milk Chocolate.  It is to die for!!!!

In the past few months I have enjoyed many parties with friends and family, and of course have served the Premium Belgium Chocolates with dippers such as Strawberries, Raspberries, Pineapple, Bananas, Pretzels, Marshmellows, etc.  But, I have been adventurous and  excited to try some other fun with fondue items such as Hot Caramel for dipping apples,  Hot Queso, and  Hot Nacho Cheese Sauce, for dipping chips.  Hot Artichoke Dip, and Hot Spinach Dip for dipping Crackers and veggies.  My favorite is to have 3 pots melting:  Chocolate, Cheese, and Caramel.  It has been a blast!! 


At my booth at Raspberry Days, I found that people were so excited to have fondue while vacationing, and so excited to purchase Fondue Pots for Christmas gifts.  I was so energized by everyone's excitement to enjoy Fondue again in a clean simple and safe way.  Thank you Scentsy Company for ingeniously creating such a fun new product.

God's Hand in All (part 2)

This year has really been a revolutionary year for me as I have come upon the ripe of age of 50.  This is an awakening time for one, as you realize that you have probably lived more than half your life.  You look back and see how hard you have worked to attain certain goals, all that you have been through with your family, and you look at your present circumstance, and life all of a sudden takes on a little bit of new meaning, a new purpose, a new direction as you realize that moments are precious not to be filled with just anything.

I have taken some time this year to study and find direction in what I want to put into my life for the next 50 years (optomistically thinking that my tired body will last that long).  I had previously enjoyed reading the book "The Dream Giver" by Bruce Wilkinson, which helped me to understand that we all have a great purpose on this earth, and if we put aside our own wants and desires and trust in God to help us accomplish his will.  He will help us develop our God given talents in a way far beyond what we could ever imagine.

So, my focus this year has been one trying to discover what God would have me do with my life.  It has been an incredible process requiring much devotion to spiritual study and quiet time.  Through the winter, somehow I allowed myself to be pulled away from my quest, getting caught up into hectic schedules, and demands of life. I desparately hopeful that I might be able  to get back into the groove of walking in the path that God would have me.  It has been the most incredible experience turning my heart and mind over to God.  IT has brought much joy, peace, hope and optomism for such an exciting bright future.

This morning, I spent studying a message from Elder Vincent O. Haleck, titled:  Having the Vision to Do.   http://www.lds.org/general-conference/print/2012/04/having-the-vision-to-do?lang=eng

This message shares similar thoughts as those from Bruce Wilkinson in the Dream Giver.  Elder Haleck shares the scripture Proverbs 29:18, and his message focuses on this scripture.  "If we are to prosper rather than perish, we must gain a vision of  ourselves as the Savior sees us."  Where there is no vision, the people perish.

I don't want to perish, I want to proper!  So, I understand that I must have a vision, a purpose and a plan to do what God would have me do with my life.

"When we experience hard things in our lives that can sometimes diminish our vision and faith to do the things we should.  We become so busy that we often feel overwhelmed and unable to do more.....I humbly submit that we must focus our vision on the SAvior and his teachings.....The savior has a great vision of who we can become.  It will take the same faith and courage the  first apostles had in order for us to refocus on the things that matter most in bringing lasting happiness and great joy,"

What an encouragaging messages from both Elder Haleck and Bruce Wilkinson.  Hope you have the opportunity read both of these.

May we shift our focus to recognize the gifts that God has given us, and walk hand and hand with him in accomplishing what he would have us do with our lives.

God's Hand in All (part 1)

Life is so interesting, so full of experiences, not always easy, sometimes challenging causing us to perservere, to hold on until the light at the end of the tunnel.  The challenging times mold us and push us to be better than we could possibly imagine.

I am truly amazed at God's hand in all things.  Often times simple unimaginable things or people that are placed in our lives at key times, that bless inspire and motivate us towards good things.  What a blessing to have God's watch over us always.

Presently we are vacationing after an intense several days of hard work doing a booth at Bear Lake, Utah.  What a beautiful place to get away.  I love it here.  Yesterday, we had decided to travel to a certain area to park our trailer to spend the night before we get together with family at a cabin for a few days. My husband went with me and my son to help get us settled, before he had to return home for work.  After my husband left, my 16 year old son told me he didn't have a good feeling about the place we were staying.  I was kind of shocked, because it was a beautiful location right off the beach overlooking the lake.  We were kind of out away from most other campers.  There were several groups of young kids in different area's around us who were drinking quite a bit, but I figured they would be leaving soon as they were not set up to camp, and all would be well.  Levi continued to tell me, "Mom, we need to leave and go somewhere else, I don't have a good feeling about this place."  So, I decided I needed to act upon my son's inspration.  We packed up and left the area, made arrangements to go park near the cabin that we would be staying for the next few days, and I feel such peace for acting on my son's inspiration.  We are blessed this morning with such an incredible view of the lake.  Wow!  I am being rejuvinated by the beauty that is around me.
