Myrts Doughnuts

Makes about 3 doz.

5 cups flour
10 Tbsp. Sugar
½ Tbsp salt
½ tsp. nutmeg
2 ½ tsp. baking powder
½ c. dry milk
½ c. shortening
2 eggs
2 cups water
6 ½ Tbsp yeast
1 tsp. vanilla extract
½ tsp. lemon extract

Mix all dry ingrediants together in a large pan.  Add eggs, melted shortening, yeast dissolved in water (some of the sugar with yeast), vanilla and lemon.  Mix to a smooth dough.  Let Raise.  Roll out and out about ½ inch thick and place on floured pans.  Let them raise again.  Fry

Glaze

1/3 c. boiling water
1 c. powdered sugar, plus vanilla
